Tony, Bucking Flair - the video

In light of the arrival of the Chilcott report... we did this around 2006 or so. Our friend Sam Lamont did the animation.

Brexit/Monopoly Metaphor Alert

Not that I often make blog posts. But if you're going to write about anything at all, then an event as big as this surely deserves attention.

Permit me a metaphor.

Imagine, if you will, that Free Market Capitalism, the system we use to run the world, is an enormous game of Monopoly.

39) Kibosh Kabarett, The Park Hotel, Lancaster, 30th april 2016ce

We may have failed to promote this event very assiduously (posted on Facebook, but not on the site), but it ended up being very well attended. This was the second Kibosh Kabarett, an event which bills itself as "art, satire, dissent", thereby suiting us down to the ground. As we were the first act on, & only doing three songs, we were fairly convinced that we'd be playing to two anarchists & a dog - but by the time we started playing the room had filled with perhaps fifty souls (none of whom were dogs, better luck next time).

Storm Desmond/Site outage/Still here

One of the disadvantages to self-hosting your server is that, in the event of a natural disaster, everything stops. This last weekend, the Northwest of England was his by Storm Desmond, which dumped an apparently-record-breaking amount of water on us all (bear in mind that we're no strangers to large amounts of water).

38) Collegian Working Men's Club, Lancaster, 27th November 2015ce

Our friends Quisling Meet, with whom we have played before, have apparently had their eye on Gage Street's Collegian Working Men's Club as a venue for a while; a large function room, free to hire (deposit required) with a cheap bar, what more could a band want? They suggested that we try the space on for size. So we both did.

another gig? are you sure? Lancaster CWMC, 27th November 2015ce

Hot on the heels of the Lancaster Music Festival, we're stretching our gigging muscles again, along with Lancaster's favourite Avant Garde Noiseniks Quisling Meet. For Mirrorkill, this will mark the first appearance of Waldorf, a new outboard synth.

The venue is Lancaster's Collegiate Working Men's Club, on Gage Street (opposite where the Fat Scot used to be, if that helps). It's on a friday night. It's free.

Be there or be a tesseract.
