keeping secrets

been gone so long, away from this place
the memory's changed, but nothing's erased
somebody get me out of this place

& down by the river, as silent as steel
I wanted to touch you, but that wasn't the deal
somebody get me out of this place

in fear of the places where night time still lingers
caressing our faces with steely white fingers
turning blue in the rust & the others to dust
the others we fought for & cared for who thought it was
time that we stood up, demanded our rights
& told our beliefs in the glare of the spotlight
& the hairs of the cross-sights narrowing now
'till the light that escapes won't show anyone where we are hiding
so they can't give us away - returning to fight them another day
somebody get me out of this place

the truth must be told, before we're forgotten
of what happened here
we've been keeping our secrets too long...

somebody get me out of this place
get me out of this place
